Whether you like it or not, it is true that Tokio Hotel is one of the largest sensations of 2008. The German band won the "New Artist" prices and knocked out Metallica and Linkin Park in the category "Best Live Act" at MTV Europe Awards. In an interview with IOL Música promised Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing and Gustav Schaefer to return to Portugal with a new album and talked about the band's success.
Have you already begun work on your new album?
Bill: Yes, we have. But we are still in the creative process. What I can say now is that we have been in the studio without any limits in our heads. We are completely free to do anything and we have already tried out different sounds. It is as if we pressed the button "Reset" and started over again. Everything is possible, there are no borders. Some songs are not ours. We are really looking forward to this.
What plans do you have for 2009? Will you return to Portugal this year?
Tom: We are really excited to release a new album. We are waiting for it to come out in stores this spring.
Bill: And we would love to go back to Portugal at the precise time when we have a new tour.
You have won some important prizes in 2008. Did you expect that?
Bill: It's insane! (laughs) We never expected something like that. It's almost unreal that we won all these prizes, but everything is due to our fans. They made all this possible.
How do you handle the band's success to the fans and with all the harassment from fangirls?
Tom: We love harassment! (laughs) The truth is that things have changed only slightly for the rest of the band, they still have no luck with girls. But I have lots of fun ...
Bill: We love our fans, they are so faithful. Full of energy and extremely dedicated. They are living with us and go with us wherever we go. There are those who have made all this possible and took us out into the world. They are fantastic! We really have the best fans in the world!
Have any of your girlfriend? The person which hasn't taken the harassment seriously?
Bill: None of us have girlfriends.
Does the success ever bore you? Do you miss not being normal teenagers who can go out on the street without being recognized?
Bill: success was always what we wanted from the beginning. Tom and I, we were already in the music world, then 8-9 years of age ... We were 15 when Tokio Hotel "exploded" in Germany. But that does not mean that we do not want the same things that normal teenagers do. We just grew up in the media's eyes and it was very relevant to what we did. Ex: When we were revealed to drink alcohol at a party (laughs).
Tom: You can be sure that we will never give up to have fun ... (laughs)
Bill, how long does it take to do make-up and hair before concerts?
Tom: 20 hours ... (laughs)
Bill: No, it doesn't take that long (laughs). To be honest it's quick - I just need 45 minutes to be ready.
What do you do in your spare time?
Bill: When we have days off, we sleep much. (laughs)
Georg: In addition to Gustav, he always gets up early.
Tom: Yes, but we eat, sleep and watch DVDs, go out with friends and when we come back we sleep again.
What's your favorite band?
Bill: I always liked Nena. I listen to everything, but right now my favorite artists are Pink and Coldplay.
George: I grew up with the Oases and the Rolling Stones because of my parents. Now my favorites are Yellow Card.
Gustav: I like Metallica, Slip Knot, System of a Down, Audioslave ...
Tom: And I like Samy Deluxe and the Foo Fighters.

-Unele piese nu sunt ale voastre??? x_X What the...? o_O *bate vantul*.. cred ca nu o sa ieie piese de la Deluxe si o sa le faca`n rock. xDDDD
-Waa.. baieti foarte frumos spus despre noi.. *__* Cand ma gandesc uneori cred ca la fel dup cum zic ei,suntem cei mai tari fani din lume.. (pana cand la nimeni n`am intalnit atatea emisiuni si stiri despre TH si noi-fanii..) o_O
-Senzatia 2008? Oh.. common` m.. ei s`au facut cunoscuti destul de bine si din 2oo7! o_O.. putem zice ca succesul cel mai mare l`au avut in 2007 si 2008.. -2006 au facut doar cunostinta cu tarile vecine si inca acolo tari..) ^^.
-Free time.. bietii de voi..nici voi nu mai stiti a cata oara va dau aceasta intrebare. x_XBine ca nu a fost "de unde a venit numele trupei ca vad ca clocotesc la intrebarea asta! xDD). Doamne.. dorm mult,se intalnesc cu friendsii lor si dupa aia dorm din nou... ahhhh... x_X. Mda.. Gustav e cel mai de nadejte guy din trupa! x_X. Nu o sa`mi fie deloc boring cu el..la care ceilalti.. o sa fie dusi pe valurile somnului. x_X. Edit: se intalnesc cu friendsii,Tom si Geo isi cauta fete disponibele si dupa aia continua lista. ^_^ *sa nu`mi ziceti ca v`am demaskat! xD*
